Threshold Monitoring

Print this Topic Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

In order to monitor thresholds, invoke your user-defined scripts, and email alerts and log file entries, you must invoke the program with the -W option and supply SMARTMon-UX with the name of your configuration file.  You must currently use the command-line mechanism to use threshold monitoring.  (A GUI-based threshold-monitoring engine will be added once the long-running widgets fix has been added).

Usage

smartmon-ux -Wfilename

Example

smartmon-ux -WDiskRWActivityRecorder.cfg

For details on the syntax and creation of the script, refer to the Threshold Configuration portion of this manual.

Notes

Do not put a space between the -W and the filename!
